Evaluation
For my double page spread I did some research on Neru before
I wrote the article. I researched more about other names Neru has as a producer
and different interpretations of the songs I was reviewing. Furthermore I
looked at some statistics for these songs and I listened to them to analyse
them more in full detail. I mainly wrote about the meaning of the songs and why
I liked listening to them. I wrote about symbolism and some of the lyrics used
in the song to further support the meaning behind the song. I provided an image
from the music videos of the symbolism used in the song. I looked at different
layouts for double page spreads however due to the excessive amount of text I
had I had to stick to a relatively simple layout to fit all the text in.
The skills I learnt on Idesign were how to add text and images.
Furthermore I learnt more about the layout of double page spreads and that
objects and text need to stay in a certain frame to avoid getting cut off. I
learned how to set the whole background colour and make an image fit into a
frame proportionately. I also learnt how to do a drop cap for my article on Idesign.
I experimented with different text alignments and columns to see what looked
best on my DPS.
Something I could have improved was my layout. I could have improved
my DPS by condensing some of the text. Because there was so much text
everything on my DPS looks very close together and squashed. I felt like I
could have added more colour to my DPS as it does look very plain especially
with the large amount of text used. I tried to make my DPS stand out more by
adding tears falling in the background to relate with the logo but overall it
still looked quite boring. I think it would have been better to lay out my DPS
with one page having only an image and the other page with just the text and
extra images. That way it would be more eye catching and less dull.
